Housed in a compact plastic enclosure, the 315-040 can be easily installed inside custom annunciators or accessory cabinets. It communicates with the FACP via a two-wire RS485 Repeater-Bus serial interface, ensuring smooth data transmission. An additional two wires are used to supply 24V DC power, allowing a single four-core unshielded cable to handle both power and communication—simplifying installation.

For scalable system integration, up to eight RS485 Repeater-Bus devices can be connected to each FACP, offering flexibility for larger fire alarm networks.
